Goals of this project were for first graders to edit fonts, colors, styles, sizes. This was also the first time they recorded voices by themselves.

I love this project. What a great way to teach about Fonts. Did you write the sentence for them or did they type it themselves? What were your instructions to the students, and, one more question, one that I would like as many comments on as possible, how are you recording their voices? Headset? Microphone??? This is a continuous stumbling block for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I wrote the sentence starter and the students viewed it on the whiteboard.  They had to type the sentence themselves.

Instructions were each skill done in a class.   Day 1--Wrote sentences Day 2--Discussed font and size and changed them.  Day 3--changed colors.  We use separate microphone and headphones, and I will be honest--sometimes it is a nightmare.  I have microphones that will work on one computer and not another.  The best asset you have are the students themselves.  Have the students that get theirs done help the others.  I call them my mini teachers.  Let them take the microphone and their headphones if necessary from student to student.  This was my salvation in doing this project.  If I didn't utilize the students, I could have never accomplished it!
