Yep, you can upload pictures to Frames. The great thing about Frames is that students can use the built in drawing tools within the program to create animations, or, they can upload pictures of clay, lego animation, etc. You should check out http://…

Research without Copying PDF

Thanks to the many of you who have viewed and provided feedback regarding the Research without Copying video. Many folks have asked for the PDF, so, rather than sending it out individually, I thought it might be best to attach it to the blog. Please feel free to let me know if there's any way I can assist as you try to implement some of these ideas in to your classroom. The updated PDF has a few new examples that are not on the Research without Copying video. Again, please don't hesitate to cont… Continue

Constructivism in the Classroom

As of this year, I've taken on a new job as a problem-based learning consultant. Right now, we're still in the planning stages of what a job like this might really look like. Currently, I'm in search of model schools to visit who are utilizing inquiry, problem, or project-based learning school-wide or even on a smaller scale...perhaps an entire garde level.

Any suggestions of schools either in the midwest region or in the San Diego area who are utilizing constructivism in the classroom are grea… Continue

Early Childhood Technology

Hello! I'm currently working with our director of early childhood to build a technology program from the ground up. Currently, none of the three early childhood buildings have any technology. We plan on purchasing a few computers, projectors, and SMARTBoards. Aside from those things, is there any type of technology, hardward or software, relevant to early childhood that you cannot live without? Thanks in advance for your collective knowledge!

Hi Liz,
Are you still with L-C, and have the same email? If not, send your new info to my new email: reed.kandm@gmail.com. I would like to keep in touch. Retirement is fun, but I haven't slowed down at all!

Keep enjoying your vacation. Where in Florida are you?
Years like you're having are very seductive (and addictive). Enjoy!

Actually I took a cab the next morning to the White House and walked around a bit before returning to the Convention Center and then trekking out to Union Station, so it wasn't all bad. A reason to return to DC to catch the sights another time. I'll plan a bit more carefully for Denver next year. :D

It was terrific to see you and everyone else at NECC. Did Marianna have a chance to tell you guys about our underwater tour of DC and our singing cabbie?
