Hey, Linda. We started out by exploring various genres of literature just so the kids had some exposure to creative pieces of writing. From there, we worked on making connections between fiction and non-fiction. Students were asked to choose a topic and make a connection between a creative writing idea as well as a piece of non-fiction or curricular related text. Students then drafted their writing piece and went through the peer editing process. Next, students created a storyboard. I then had students walk through some Recipes4Success. Once students had a chance to "explore" the program, they began illustrating their characters. They created a few drawings (open mouth, closed mouth, and variations of each) and then duplicated the frames changing scenes and number of characters from time to time. Students then recorded their voices and changed timings and frames to line-up with the audio. Hope this helps. Feel free to let me know if I'm able to assist in any way!
