What’s Brewing for Halloween?

Posted on October 21, 2013 at 8:06pm 2 Comments

I spent some time this weekend at a Pumpkin Festival which had great activities for families including a hay bale maze, pumpkin launching, hay rides, squash bowling, cider pressing, face painting, and more.

Pixie and Frames make it possible to place students in different places whether using a web cam, green screening, or…

With St. Patrick’s just a week away or in some schools known as Lucky Day consider infusing technology into the color the carnation experiment. Students love using a webcam and the time lapse feature in Frames 5 to create movies.

If you need help with the experiment steps just Google Coloring Carnations Science Experiment and help is a click away.

Now for the fun of integrating technology with the experiment.

Once your experiment is set up and your webcam is powered up…

I'm very excited to be working with a New Jersey school district who was awarded a Literacy Grant that includes Tech4Learning software tools and professional development workshops by the T4L team.

Hi Denise,
When did you visit the curriculum center?
We are working on coming to consensus on 21st century skills and exploring ways to make learning more meaningful. Using many web 2.0 tools and looking at the relative advantage of using them.
Interesting work!
What are you up too?

Plan to use it for initial start up of digital portfolios for grade 4. (Saw the idea in one of your recent publications).
I've only played around with it with colleagues so far, haven't used it with students. In the plans for Spring with students!

Hi Denise!

Nice to see you here - I've been busier than ever with the images4education ning and haven't checked back here very often - so it's nice to get called back in! We received our new version of Frames that had been on backorder just the other day so I'm very excited to check it out. I've been working my way through the old Frames help files and some tutorials and will doing my first Frames workshop in the beginning of March. I'm very excited - and we also have some teachers who are very excited to come in and get their feet wet with Frames.

Once I get this under my belt, I'll start looking at the other T4L programs - so much too learn!
