Sound on the iPad

Yesterday I received an email from one of our long time Wixie users who is now using Wixie on the iPad. The sound was not recording on just ONE iPad. Worked fine on 29 out of 30. What could be the…Continue

Parent Letters Home

There are many treasures in the Wixie Training tab, and one of them is the Wixie Letter to Parents. The letter explains to the parents that Wixie is being used by your school, the devices Wixie runs…Continue

Wixie Class Assignments

I have had a lot of calls lately about the Wixie class assignments. It's kind of confusing. If you have multiple classes assigned to you, and you assign an activity to all students in that class, it…Continue

Welcome, Danielle Abernethy!

Celebrate!

I love working with the great educators that use Tech4Learning products and am very thankful for the 21st Century work atmosphere that lets me do this from the comfort of my own home. (Or discomfort when my son is home). I believe in celebrating creativity and the many successes in the classroom. My role as Integration Specialist leans more towards helping those with Wixie and K12Share accounts getting them set up, ready for implementation and integration. However, I love when Lindie has a training opportunity or a special focus project for me to work on, especially if it means connecting with teachers or helping to create guides that you can use in your curriculum.

One of the fun things I like to do with Wixie and Pixie is create printables. My son and I made his special shirt for a comic convention using Pixie and this summer I made a bunch of earrings using with our tools and Shrinky Dinks. My niece and I just used math skills to help design a necklace for her dance team with their logo using Pixie. It was quite fun!

Joey Thinks Computers are Just Stupid

My son has to do a 100 Math Terms booklet. Fun times, and trust me I have a rant about something the teacher said to me about the whole project. I'll save that for next week. Anyway, Joey started the project in Wixie. We figured we'd create 3 files. Two files of 50 words and then a file with the cover, reference page and notes. But last weekend we were driving to South Carolina, and I don't have Internet in my car. Therefore, we moved it out to Pixie on his laptop. He worked hard on the project…See More

Our Greatest Artists! The September 2014 TIEs

I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that they are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.John SteinbeckI love back to school time! Spirits are always full of ideas, energy is renewed and everyone is eager to inspire and grow. The artists in us all come out! I also love when I get to announce the Tech4Learning Innovative Educators, and this group is definitely full of…See More

September 11th

Today is a sacred day in our American History. Many of your students were not even born yet or were too young to remember the devastation and enormous loss caused by terrorist acts. There are many pictures and video out there commemorating the events that took place that tragic day. Many share the tragedy and easily break one's heart. Then there are those that show the teamwork of America, her spirit unbroken, as we picked up the pieces and cleaned up and rebuilt what was taken away. Pictures…See More

Back to School - The Numbers Game

Oh AMEN! My son is back in school, we had a rough week with getting the schedule figured out, but he's back to learning and growing and I can work in peace and quiet without the noise of his video games and constant request/demands for food and this and that. Yeah, that's a big ole awkward sentence, but it is Friday and that whole sentiment just came rushing out!One of his back to school activities was a familiar one. As a parent of an 8th Grader, we've seen a lot. The one that is my favorite…See More

Roll Call

I have been a very bad blogger. In my mind, I have written these great blogs, shared many great ideas, and you all have commented on these blogs with great response and sharing of ideas. But they don't count since they were all in my mind, in my dreams. Which is sad, because we have had such a great summer and there were so many opportunities to share! Now that fall is in the air, and students have started getting back to school, I must get back to blogging. I am committed to sharing ideas from…See More

Danielle, I have Pixie 3 and am just getting it installed this week. I used Pixie several years ago along with Twist and WebBlender but they have changed some since I had them. I will let you know how Share is when I actually get to use it. I am anxious to get started with the three programs. Tech4Learning is a great resource to use in a classroom.

No I am not a coach. I checked that bc I saw no description for what I doing. Moving from classroom to tech. I guess I would call myself: Master classroom teacher trying to move district forward with tech. lol   I need all the help I can get. It is so funny to me bc the young girl I am mentoring is very tech savy but she doesn't know classroom. I go in when I am free and help her estab. routines and show her basics. She is so grateful. I actually thought the other night. Maybe positions should be switched. Then I thought better... she needs to learn classroom and children. I need to move forward and help these children get what they need and deserve.

Thank you!  Berrien Springs is a beautiful place!  This is my first time using Tech4Learning, I have not used any of the software programs yet.  I dont think I will have any extra money in the schools budget to purchase software this year, are there any free for students/schools that I would be able to utilize teaching technology to 1st thru 8th graders in a private school setting?  Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
