I am just trying to figure out how to use Webblender. What are the advantages of using this to create over powerpoint or photostory? Thanks very much.

WebBlender is designed to be powerful yet approachable. The key feature that sets this program apart from others is its interface. WebBlender makes it easy be creative with digital story telling. The storyboard is stationary across the bottom which allows you to easily stay organized, navigate your project, and map buttons to different pages. This makes 'Create Your Own Ending' digital stories a breeze. WebBlender also makes it simple to upload work to your favorite web server for everyone to see.

WebBlender allows more interactivity than PowerPoint or PhotoStory. Students or teachers are able to create websites with links to outside wesites, documents, movies, etc. and publish the site in an html format. It is the easiest tool I have ever used for publishing podcasts and vodcasts.
It is a great way for students to create a website that shows understanding of concepts. The ease of use allows the focus to be on content and not on the software. I have had kindergarteners create websites with WebBlender. It is that easy to use! Secondary students are able to take it to the next level by combining other tools like Twist and Frames to create higher end websites.
WebBlender is probably my favorite T4L tool because it allows students to publish what they know about concepts easily and quickly. It is also a wonderful tool for teacher websites because it is so easy to use and as along as a teacher has the ability to ftp to their school webserver, he/she can publish podcasts without having to get assistance from the tech department!

Another great thing about WebBlender is that it allows to publish locally. This means your students can create all the wonderful content with links and photos etc... and then use webBlender to bring it all together. When you publish it, select "Local". It then becomes a simple html file. This can be burned to a disk and viewed by anyone who has a browser, like parents, school boards, principals. Great for student portfolios.

What would be the easiest way to share sites created with web blender online? Specifically, I would like to be able to share the websites on a blogger blog in a small size format...almost like a video or slideshow. What do you all recommend? I know I could turn each page into an image file, but then the links won't work...

I would just create a site that links to the sites that you and/or your students create. If you are not able to publish to a school or district server, then check out Lunarpages. It is a site that lets teachers create and post websites free. From there you can link to the webblender projects. (http://www.lunarpages.com/education/)

Hi, Kenny. I'm using WebBlender, and, whenever I go to publish the files to local, it cuts off portions of words and the font looks significantly larger. I tried increasing the size of the text box, leaving more space below and to the right of the words, and, in some cases, that remedies the situation. Is it something with the resolution? Is there a way I can fix this? Thanks!

Liz, my first suggestion would have been to try increasing the size of the original text boxes. What I think is happening is that the browser is displaying your font differently (larger) so its not fitting in the allotted text box space. If giving the text more padding does not fix this then I will need to take a look at the project file.
